Course Description Summer 2011
The Homesteader is an art seminar and farm education course that combines practical experience on an organic CSA (community supported agriculture) farm with complimentary readings, group discussion, and synthesized creative projects. Class work will be centered on the overlap of art and agrarianism with an emphasis on socially engaged community-based projects. Students will be expected not only to generate several creative responses based on their experience but also collaboratively curate a final project that utilizes the CSA as a creative venue.
